We few, we happy few

April 1, 2009

Our day is called the March of Trillions:
He that shuns this day, and stays safe home,
Will hang his head when the day is named,
And and blush at the name of patriot.

He that shall march this day and live t’old age,
Will yearly remember, and say
“To-morrow marks the day we boldly stepped forth to take belov’d country back! slurs and lies of lesser men did not prevail!”

This story shall the good man teach his son;
And year shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!;

Trillions and despotism arrayed against the right will not prevail!
And he today that marches against both with me this day
Shall be my family;
And Congressmen in D.C. now abed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That marched the trillions with us upon that day.
